Privacy
Privacy at Kune, in short
This is an English summary. The legally binding version is the Spanish policy.
- Your account — name, email and (with Google) your photo. Passwords are stored only as cryptographic hashes.
- Bookings and reviews — kept to run the tour (capacity, tickets) and to verify that reviewers actually attended.
- Voice during a tour — voice (the guide's, and a visitor's when they ask a question or join a translated call) is processed in real time to produce the translation and captions. Kune does not record or keep audio.
- Your Google API key (guides only, optional) — if you bring your own Gemini key, we store it encrypted (AES-256) with the date of your explicit consent; only its last 4 characters are ever shown, and it is deleted when you remove it or close your account. With your own key, your tour audio is processed under your terms with Google (on the free tier, Google may use it to improve its models). You can withdraw it any time from your profile.
- Your call contacts and contact matching (optional) — your in-app contact list stores the emails you add to place translated calls. If you tap “Find who's on Kune in my contacts”, the app reads email addresses only from your address book (with the Android permission, revocable) and sends them encrypted in transit to match them against Kune accounts: matches are added to your list; the rest are discarded immediately and never stored or logged. We read no phone numbers, names or anything else, and you can remove any contact at any time.
- No ad or analytics cookies. Only functional local storage (your session, your tickets).
- EU hosting — service and database run in European Union data centres. AI translation providers may process voice/text outside the EEA under standard contractual clauses.
- Your rights — access, rectification, deletion and more: from “My account” or by writing to info@kuneapp.com. Deleting your account removes it (guides with others' bookings/reviews are anonymised instead).
