How it works

Three steps and you hear the tour in your language

The guide doesn't set up languages or hand out gadgets: they just talk. You pick yours — any of them — and your translator switches on instantly.

Step 1

Book for free

Find your tour by country and city, and sign up in ten seconds: your ticket is a code. Sign in if you like, and your bookings follow you.

Step 2

Scan the guide's QR

At the meeting point, the guide shows their QR. Scan it with the Kune app — or with your camera, and listen right in your browser.

Step 3

Pick your language and listen

Over 70 languages: choose yours and its translator spins up on the spot. You hear the guide a few seconds behind, with live captions.

How it sounds

Hear it for yourself

The same snippet of a test tour, translated live by Kune — no studio editing: the voice, the pauses and the delay are the real thing (translation lands ~2 s after each sentence — measured, not promised).

For the guide

Your cockpit

  • Publish your tours from the app: they show up here, with bookings and capacity
  • Just say the language you speak: visitors pick their own
  • A big QR to onboard the group in seconds
  • See live what the translator understands from you — and the group's questions, translated to your language
  • 📞 Translated call: ring someone who doesn't speak your language — their phone rings like any call, and you each speak your own
  • Reply to your tours' reviews
For the visitor

Zero friction

  • Free booking: your ticket is a code
  • Your language, even if nobody else asks for it: it activates when you pick it
  • ✋ Raise your hand and ask in your language: the guide and the whole group hear you translated
  • Live captions to read along while you listen
  • 📍 The guide's live location on your map, when shared
  • Verified reviews: only real attendees get to rate
  • Your own earphones: the ones already in your pocket
Beyond the tour

📞 Translated call: talk to someone who doesn't speak your language

The same translator that powers the tours, in a one-on-one call. You each speak your own language and hear the other translated, live — for that friend, client or in-law you've never really been able to talk to.

Step 1

Pick both languages

In the app, tap "📞 Translated call": the language you speak and the one the other person speaks — any of the 70+ in the catalogue.

Step 2

Ring them, or invite with a link

Do they have Kune? Enter their email and their phone rings like any call: accept and you're in. No app? Send the link over WhatsApp and they join from the browser — nothing to install. Same room? Have them scan your QR.

Step 3

Talk at your own pace

Like having an interpreter: the translation lands a couple of seconds after each sentence, with the text on screen. Works in person too — one earphone each.

The math does itself

FAQ

What people ask us

Can I ask the guide questions?

Yes — and it's brand new. Raise your hand ✋ from your phone, the guide gives you the floor, and you ask in your language: the guide and the whole group hear you translated, captions included. Nobody else does this.

What is the translated call?

A call between two people who don't share a language: each speaks their own and hears the other translated, live. If the other person has Kune, their phone rings like any call (accept or decline); if not, they join from a link in the browser — nothing to install.

Do I need to install an app to listen?

Not necessarily: the guide's QR also opens the player in your phone's browser, with audio and captions. The Kune app adds the built-in scanner, saved tickets and reviews.

How many languages can one group have?

As many as the group needs, from a catalogue of 70+. The guide sets up nothing: they speak their language. Each visitor picks their own and that translator spins up on the spot.

How much does it cost?

Right now, nothing: we're in early access and bookings are free. Later on guides will be able to publish paid tours; listening to the translation will never cost visitors extra.

What does the guide need?

An Android phone with the Kune app and a data connection. No transmitters, no receivers, no radio licences. Publish your tours, show the QR and talk.

Can I trust the reviews?

Yes, and it's verifiable: only someone who booked and actually listened to the tour for a minimum time can review — the app checks it automatically. Reviews are translated to your language and the guide can reply.

What if coverage is poor?

The translation audio is light (it's just voice) and you always have live captions, which use even less. The guide — who needs the most upload — should have decent data coverage.

Is my voice — or the guide's — recorded?

No. Voice is processed in real time only to translate it, then discarded: Kune doesn't record or keep audio. That also covers a visitor asking a question ✋ or a translated call. More in our privacy policy.

What earphones do I need? Does it drain the battery?

Any: wired or the wireless ones you already use. Listening uses about as much as a voice call — a two-hour tour barely dents your battery. The guide, who transmits, notices it most.

The tour I want is full — now what?

On the tour page you can leave your email and we'll notify you automatically if a spot frees up. And if the guide repeats the tour another week, you'll see it on their public profile.

Do you guide tours? Your next group already understands you.

We're opening early access with professional guides. Leave your email and we'll let you know when there's a spot in your city.

Noted! We'll write to you as soon as spots open. 🎧
